Melanie Brunswick is the founding principal of The Brunswick Group. With over twenty three years of experience in the area of legal search, Melanie brings a level of integrity, professionalism and success which sets her and her company apart from others in the field. As a widely recognized leader in legal search, she has assisted in opening West Coast offices for major firms, placed major partners and practice groups, conducted searches for numerous corporations, from Fortune 500 firms to smaller, privately held firms, and counselled partners (individuals and groups) on the subject of career opportunities. For many top firms and corporations, Melanie is the first choice for retained exclusive searches for attorneys with a specific expertise. Melanie is known for her encyclopedic knowledge of law firms and their attorneys, as well as her ability to successfully match attorneys with appropriate firms.

David Corwin - email
David Corwin joined The Brunswick Group in 2004, after a highly successful practice as an intellectual property litigator. After working for seven years as a litigation associate in large firms in California and Massachusetts, David represented entertainment clients at a prestigious Los Angeles entertainment boutique. Among other engagements, David brought an action against Napster on behalf of two prominent musical entities. David was then hired by the Motion Picture Association of America as Senior Counsel, Worldwide Antipiracy, where he was responsible for overseeing motion picture studios' litigation matters and strategy, both nationally and internationally.
David graduated from Columbia College in New York, and Georgetown University Law Center, cum laude. Following law school, he clerked for United States District Court Judge Edward J. Garcia in the Eastern District of California. David has been a frequent lecturer at professional functions, colleges and law schools on the subject of copyright law. He is also a prolific author on many subjects and has published articles in several national law reviews. Most recently, David published Contributory Copyright Liability in Napster Versus Grokster: A Distinction Without A Difference in the Loyola Entertainment Law Review.

Donna U. Friedman - email
Donna joined The Brunswick Group in 2004 after practicing as a litigator for 7 years. In addition to the practice of law Donna owned an extremely successful clothing line and catalog business. She has been the Vice President of marketing for a national firm and has extensive business experience. Donna also has a masters in public health from UCLA and has been a health care consultant and CEO of the largest ambulatory health center in the United States. Donna is responsible for the Northern California office and selected regions throughout the United States.

Julie Burstin - email
Julie Burstin has over 11 years of attorney recruiting experience. She began her career at Skadden, Arps, Slate Meagher & Flom, and most recently was the Attorney Recruiting and Development Manager for the California offices of Akin, Gump, Strauss Hauer & Feld, assisting with establishing the firm's presence in both Northern and Southern California.
Her law firm experience includes all levels of lateral attorney and student recruiting. Julie managed all aspects of the summer associate programs, and coordinated attorney training and development programs. She served as Secretary to the Board for the Los Angeles Legal Recruiting Administrators Association (LAALRA) and was a long-standing member of The Association for Legal Career Professionals (NALP). Julie received her BA in Legal Studies from UC Berkeley.

Dorrie Sykes - email
Dorrie Sykes is a senior recruiter and has been with the Brunswick Group since 1996. She joined the company after serving as the founding Recruiting Administrator for the Los Angeles office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom where she assisted in establishing the firm’s presence in Los Angeles. During her tenure at Skadden, the firm grew from 40 to 120 attorneys. Dorrie was responsible for lateral attorney hiring and on-campus recruiting. She managed the summer associate program, and coordinated associate training and development programs. Dorrie held the offices of Vice-President and Secretary for the Los Angeles Legal Recruiting Administrators Association.
While at the Brunswick Group, Dorrie has placed partners and associates at law firms and companies and has been the point person for firms in their searches on a national level.

Grace Mueller - email
Grace joined The Brunswick Group in 2006, after practicing in the litigation group of the national law firm Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP for 15 years. At Sonnenschein, Grace represented a diverse clientele, with an emphasis on insurance industry clients.
Grace served on Sonnenschein’s recruiting committee for more than ten years. In this capacity, she interviewed hundreds of lateral and summer candidates, took part in offer decisions and assisted in the planning for the summer associate program.
Grace graduated from Oberlin College with high honors and the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, Order of the Coif.
